Canidae Pet Foods began with a natural “All Life Stages” formula and have added to their dog food line 3 other formulas to address the specific needs of individual dogs. 

The theory behind an all life stage food is that in the natural environment a dog or cat could not choose a puppy, kitten, adult or lite formula.  The animals would naturally eat more or less depending upon their individual needs.

Their primary formula is the “All Life Stage” which contains chicken, turkey, lamb and fish as the protein sources.  The multiple protein source advantage is that it provides a more complete amino acid chain than a single protein source food- a more complete amino acid chain = better nutrition.

They introduced a formula called “Platinum” which is a lower protein, lower fat food based on the same ingredients as the “All Life Stage” formula as well as two single protein source formulas for dogs with sensitive systems – Chicken and Rice and Lamb and Rice.

Canidae also offers a cat food formula – Felidae – which posses the same attributes and advantages that the dog food formulas offer.

Included in Canidae’s formulas are a full compliment of extras which are designed to enhance your pet’s health.  Some of these additions include: balanced Omega 3s and 6s (essential to healthy skin and coat), Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics,  Cranberry Meal (to promote urinary tract health), and a variety of healthful herbs.

All Canidae’s formulas use meats that are Human Grade, hormone and antibiotic free.  All are tested to be free of ethoxyquin residue.  The rice used is USDA Grade I and has been tested to have no residual pesticides.  Each formula is free of corn, wheat or soy.
